Did you know that 26% of the items in our wardrobes go unworn? We're holding clothes swap shops across the year so that pre-loved clothing doesn't go to waste, and you can find something new you love.
Many of us love fashion, but it can have a huge impact on the environment and the people who make our clothes.
The University of London & UCL will be collaborating to bring you regular Clothes Swaps and Mending Stations, free of charge, throughout the year, for the benefit of all students within the University of London federation, which includes the closest universities of UCL, Birkbeck, LSHTM and SOAS.

We are now requiring proof of student/staff ID status by ID.
How it works:
Bring Your Preloved Clothing: Dig out those items you’ve outgrown or no longer wear and bring them along. Maximum 8 items. The quality should be decent, staff/volunteers have the right to refuse items.
Browse and Select: Come along at any time during the event. Find something you like? It’s yours to take home!
Loyalty Card: Didn’t find your perfect item this time? No worries! Grab a loyalty card, which gives you the chance to return to a future event and find something new. Our inventory is always changing, so there’s always a chance for a great find.
Clothing Mending Station
There will also be a 1:1 Clothing Mending Station happening in the same room from 12:30-16:30, with 20-minute slots to sit down with an experienced mender and learn how to fix an item of clothing!

- Friday 9th October – UCL, Student Centre foyer
- Friday 13th November – University of London, Senate House
- Friday 4th December - UCL, Student Centre foyer
- Wednesday 10th February - UCL, Student Centre foyer
- Friday 12th March – UCL, Student Centre foyer
- Wednesday 12th May – University of London, Senate House
Interested in volunteering?
Student volunteers help us to deliver the Clothes Swaps. Volunteering at these events is a great way to develop skills and help make UCL sustainable.
