As a core part of your induction and time at UCL, you are expected to complete the Active Bystander Programme, which consists of:
- A 30-40 min online module (to be completed before attending this workshop)
- A 90-minute live workshop (this session)
The programme, which has trained over 50,000 students, empowers you to recognise and challenge bullying, harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct, helping to build a safe, respectful and inclusive community for all.
By completing this training, you will gain:
- Practical tools for safe intervention
- Understanding of support services at UCL
- Skills to support an inclusive academic and social environment
- A certificate upon completion
This training is a core part of your induction for all new UCL students (2025/26 onwards), in line with national requirements to tackle harassment and misconduct in higher education.
