October may be spooky season… but it's also Black History Month! To celebrate African American writers, we're reading the opening short story of Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah’s debut work Friday Black: 'The Finkelstein Five’.
The story follows a young black man named Emmanuel, whose job interview comes days after a jury delivers their verdict in a court case, acquitting a white man, George Wilson Dunn, after his being indicted for using a chainsaw to brutally murder five Black children outside a library.
This session will be hosted by Jessie, our Treasurer, who swears by Friday Black: '"I highly recommend you purchase it from Waterstones! Otherwise come with it printed :))) See you there!"
