Laamiga (Women's Mentoring and Training)

Laamiga, started in 2010, is a charity run by women for Black Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee women. Laamiga means “pathway” and helps women find new directions. Many women from migrant and refugee backgrounds have a wide range of skills and are very resilient despite facing issues like low income, lone parenthood, and discrimination in employment. Female mentors can help them find new ways to use their talents, skills and knowledge in satisfying work, and help them take the first steps towards employment or setting up their own business. Mentors volunteer online 2-4 hours a month.
