Who are we? Street Storage is the only UK charity providing free, accessible and safe storage for people experiencing homelessness. 

What do we need? Street Storage is looking for people who can play a vital role in the safe storage of people's most prized possessions and be part of a team who aims to create a warm, welcoming safe space for people who store with us.  Duties would consist of getting people's bags and cases to and from our storage unit when they drop in for belongings as well as greeting people, offering refreshments and generally being on hand for staff and people using Street Storage alike.  

 

Duties

The role of Unit Volunteer will be to support the Referrals and Storage Coordinator in the running of the drop in service, including the following:

  • Storing and retrieving luggage, including tagging people's luggage when they first come in and recording taken and added folder.
  • Support the service’s efforts to maintain a clean and organised space for people who use the service and staff alike.
  • Ensure that all individuals are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Time commitment

The following days and hours are available:

Monday 09:30 - 16:30 - ad hoc
Tuesday 09:30 - 16:30 - regular
Wednesday 12:30 - 16:30 - ad hoc
Thursday 12:30 - 16:30 - regular
Friday 09:30 - 16:30 - ad hoc
