bobu
bobu is a Brighton-based safety training organisation founded by Luciana Cousin and Nick Cousin. It exists because the existing infrastructure of LGBTQ+ safety, policies, diversity statements, HR processes, safe space stickers, responds to harm after it has already happened. bobu works in the gap before that: the 30-second window in which a person's nervous system registers threat, calculates…
Description

Bobu is a social-impact startup on a mission to change how we handle safety. We believe you can’t outsource safety; you have to own it. We provide practical training and digital tools, like the bobuSHIFT and bobuEssentials, to help people trust their instincts and take control in moments of harassment or distress.

We'd love to work with creative students who can help us grow and expand our digital presence. Our current platforms are  Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.  bobu is not about "corporate" safety; it's about real-life scenarios, emotional intelligence, and empowering the LGBTQ+ community, front-line and front-facing workers, organisations, communities, and individuals to take back control of their safety and make our cities safer.

We want this to be a great opportunity for portfolio building, experimenting with storytelling and social marketing, as well as gaining experience with start-ups, and supporting a growing social enterprise that's making a real impact in the world.

If you are interested, have any questions, or would like to share your ideas before applying, please get in touch with us. We would love to hear from you.
