The Volunteering Service can offer a variety of resources to help Project Leaders run their Student-Led Projects smoothly and successfully!
- The chance to book a meeting with one of our advisors to support you with project development.
- Our Checklist for Student-Led Projects, in which you can see a list of all the important tasks that you’ll need to complete.
- The Project Leader Resources webpages are packed with information and guidance to help you manage your project, along with links to all our important forms.
- Your own SLP webpage, the go-to spot for uploading important documents, registering your volunteers, and keeping track of volunteer progress (like training and DBS checks).
Once your Student-Led Project has an approved risk assessment you will have access to even more support from the VS:
- Get a UCL email address for your project. You can easily request this by emailing slvpadmin@ucl.ac.uk.
- Advertise your volunteer vacancies on our Volunteering Directory. SLP webpages are integrated with our Volunteering Directory, which means that any volunteering roles that you advertise through this webpage will be advertised on a level playing field with our registered community organisations. UCL students can easily you’re your opportunities when they search based on their interests.
- Boost your project’s visibility with marketing support through our newsletter, relevant UCL departments, and social media.
- Find a partner organisation by placing an advert in our SLP Partners’ Newsletter. Check out the details on what information to include.
- Apply for up to £500 worth of funding to give your project a financial boost (for some projects only - find out more here).
- Receive a £20 grant for refreshments at your first volunteer meeting or information session. No application needed- just submit an expenses claim using our simple instructions on the Claiming Expenses webpage.
- Cover travel expenses for all of your volunteers delivering community activities run by your project.
- Get help with DBS checks if your volunteers need them.
- Book UCL rooms for your project with ease. Our guidance will show you how to submit a room booking request.
