What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
I hope to establish a safe and secure liaison between myself, students and the faculty's educators, and provide an open ground on which opinions pertaining to our course and overall experience can be expressed freely. As a former deputy Head Girl, I am familiar with both communicating with students and staff, as well as leading discussions on examining and improving the decision-making process involved in ensuring an enriching university experience. My experience in managing past projects, as well as my decision-making and time management skills, will guarantee every student voice is heard.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
Achieving this role would enable me to be proactive and motivated in seeking out student opinions through organising anonymous questionnaires, where students could share insights on strengths and possible improvements to be made in teaching. These responses would then be voiced at committee meetings, and possible solutions implemented. Any trends within the faculty or ongoing issues would be addressed urgently through maintained contact between myself, students, the faculty and the Union if necessary. Cooperative and collaborative work would serve as the basis of my role as Faculty Rep.

You should vote for me if you have ever felt like your opinion has not been seen or addressed properly, if you have ever felt alone or isolated in your educational needs, or if you simply want and hope for a smoother, more complete experience communicating with the faculty's education provision. My goal will solely be to factor in your wants, needs and voice within the process involved in developing and enhancing your education. After all, your degree is a life-changing event, and with university being daunting enough as it is, it is crucial to me that our educational needs are adequately met.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
My resilience and commitment was demonstrated in my role as Medical society president. I managed the structure of sessions so students could engage and further their knowledge. I was the Action Changes Things society president where I organised fundraising events and a Haderech leader where I developed my leadership, communication and teamwork skills. I seek constructive outcomes in discussions and possess excellent interpersonal skills that allow me to work well with other students.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
I would like to act as the bridge between students and staff to promote positive change. I will engage with the students at different levels, via questionnaires, social events and forums to collate their views and opinions to take forward to the union. I will review and reflect on previous processes to identify what is most beneficial for the cohort through feedback from students.

I believe that my combination of skills and experience makes me the ideal candidate to take on the role as our faculty representative. I have demonstrated my reliability and engagement throughout my previous roles. I am confident, approachable and kind. I will ensure the well being of students is paramount alongside academics and that the faculty of medical sciences is developed in the students’ best interest.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
Last year, I served as faculty rep for UG medical sciences in a job-share to represent both clinical and non-clinical students.
As faculty rep, I strived to ensure the needs and concerns of students within the faculty of medicine were being addressed - fought for fairness, in-person teaching and transparency. Recently, I worked with the faculty to develop a common room and helped develop the new dissertation allocation system.
As an incoming third-year and senior mentor, I understand the challenges faced and will be in a prime position to hear about those directly from students.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
Through this role, I want to keep working on making sure that all student voices are heard.
My key objectives are to continue encouraging:
- Transparent communication and feedback
- Inter and intradepartmental communication
- Academic, Departmental and Faculty wide initiatives – working with the IMS society and student representatives
I'll also keep pushing for better EC/SORA pathways and SSW access.
Of course, I’ll also stay on my toes and will be ready to tackle and find solutions for any possible challenges to be faced this coming year as we shift to fully in-person classes.

To summarise, I am highly experienced as I have already served in this role previously. Actions speak louder than words and although most of the work of a faculty rep happens behind the scenes, I hope that these few examples of achievements made by myself and the medical faculty rep team this year can stand as proof of those actions.
