Gliding Club: Senior Captain

Hi everyone! 

I have had the privilege of serving as social media officer this year, where I was involved in many aspects of the club's organization and acted as the main point of contact for questions in Social Media groups. Through this, I gained a strong understanding of how the club operates and the needs of our members. Additionally, as a student pilot with over 50 flight hours, I have first-hand insight into how aero clubs function and the pros and cons of their practices (including with sign-ups, communication, and more) - lessons I'm keen to apply here. 

As Senior Captain, I will draw on these insights and experiences to:

• Design a fair sign-up process for flights. This would prioritise members who have not yet flown, or have previously signed up but were not selected. In doing so, I hope to allow as many members as possible to fly as often as possible.
• Look for opportunities to continue expanding the club's flying capacity
• Maintain a strong relationship with the airfield through regular communication and visits, including on weekends when I am not flying.
• Support and encourage progression by club members. I will endeavour to provide helpful resources for those interested in learning more about gliding or pursuing an SPL. I will happily answer any questions on the club or gliding, and work to build a supportive environment across the club. 

I love flying and sharing my passion. As Senior Captain, I hope to make gliding as accessible and enjoyable as possible for everyone.
