Election post
Hi everyone! I am Joshua Wong, a first-year student studying theoretical physics, and I am from Hong Kong.
After joining the Japan Society, I realised that the Japanese-styled Instagram posts are very eye-catching. They always grab my attention and encourage me to join events by the attractive images and by providing a brief description of what’s happening. I discovered that the way these posts are designed significantly influences how members perceive and engage with the society. Hence, I would like to become the Design Officer next year so that I can contribute to the society’s public image using the skills and knowledge I possess.
Having the experience of using design applications such as Canva, I believe I can ensure that the Japan Society’s Instagram posts remain appealing not only to current members but also to potential new members who might be interested in joining. Moreover, as a perfectionist, I strive to complete every task to the highest standard, and I can guarantee that every piece of work I create will reflect a high level of quality.
If I am elected as the Design Officer, I will maintain the high quality of our Instagram posts and also explore new merchandise options for members, such as T-shirts and caps. Additionally, I would like to introduce monthly Instagram posts which features interesting facts about Japanese culture, to broaden the cultural understanding of both Japanese and non-Japanese members.
