As Events Officer one of the main things I'd really want to introduce more of is the opportunity for people to be able jam and take advantage of all the equipment of the Live Music Society in a more relaxed setting. Personally I've always found the concept of playing in front of a group of people without having done a month of rehearsals horrifying and so for people who feel the same way more informal jams would be a chance to play music and meet other members of the society in a relaxed enviroment.
For the role of events officer I have a great amount of experience having been the community events officer of my 6th form college and would help to put together various events for students including a few gigs. This has also given me skills for organising and preparing events for students. I've also been a fresher's rep for Classics Soc for the past two terms and as such I already have a small amount of experience when it comes to working on a committee.
Lastly, I want to nominate myself for Live Music Soc committee because it's a cool society with funky tunes and has given me the chance to play some music since getting to uni (I owe everything to the soundproof room). I've met a ton of really nice people at Live Music Soc and as events officer I'd love the chance to connect more people through a shared love of music.
TLDR; More laid back jams + I'm really cool pls vote for me
Hi!
After being a part of Rhapsody, I realized that I wanted to be more involved in the society. Being an Events Officer would be the perfect position for me to help organize the fantastic live music shows that the society holds throughout the year and be a part of it all. I would love to meet new musicians and help provide a platform for budding UCL talents to show off their musical chops or even share some of their original music. Additionally, I hope to build on my previous experience of organizing music events for my school and charity fundraisers.
Thanks!
Chris
