I am excited about the opportunity to develop my negotiation skills and build connections with businesses while promoting the Hindu Society at UCL. I have a strong interest in event planning and fundraising, and believe that serving as a sales and marketing officer would allow me to use these skills to benefit the society and its members. Additionally, I see this as a chance to make a meaningful impact on the society by promoting events that the society hosts. Finally, I am motivated by the prospect of collaborating with other members of the society and the wider UCL community to create a vibrant and inclusive environment that celebrates Hindu culture and values.
Hi, my name is Shreya and I believe I would be well fitted for the role of Sales and Marketing officer due to my skill set and personality. I have thoroughly enjoyed and participated in the Hindu society events so far such as Garba, Rangeela, and even Take me Out, showing my deep interest and commitment towards the society. Being part of Rangeela, I enjoyed getting back in touch with my roots and connecting with people from similar backgrounds.
Leading Indian dance club in school provided me with the skill set to create promotional material and utilise graphic design to generate videos, posters, and leaflets. I am therefore experienced in editing videos/music and creating innovative and aesthetic Instagram posts. Alongside leadership, I learnt how to effectively communicate and coordinate with other team members to ensure maximum productivity. Due to my outgoing and social personality, I was able to recruit dancers and promote the club as an inclusive environment for all. I am confident I can bring the same mindset and qualities to Hsoc and aim to continue diversifying social platforms to ensure maximum outreach.
Overall, I believe I would be a valuable asset to the society and would love to be part of the Hsoc family!
Hi my name is Sid- I am a first year studying Maths and CS and I’m running for the position of Marketing and Sales Officer. Having attended nearly every event hosted by Hsoc this year, I want the freshers of next year to have similar experiences as I had this year. Be it Garba, Diwali Ball or Rangeela, every event was organised and executed perfectly. I hope to contribute to the committee and help make next year’s events as memorable.
In my opinion, the marketing and sales position is quite an important one, and I think I will be ideal for the role because of my experience as part of the leadership strand and sales team for events in my sixth form. With the help of social media, I hope to maximise our outreach and ensure the Hsoc events are always oversold. Using the Take me out TikTok as an exemplar, I want to make every promotional video and poster entertaining and engaging, so as to make the events well known in all the unis around London.
To conclude, I am proud to be a member of Hsoc and I will do everything in my power to help it grow immensely. As Marketing and Sales officer I will ensure next year’s events are bigger than ever before.
Hi! My name is Mahek, I am a first year who studies Natural Sciences and would love to be on your sales and marketing team!
This year, I joined Hindu Society as an FYR, and I can confidently say that it has been one of my favourite experiences at UCL so far. From the countless messages in the group chat to planning events and the socials, the committee was very welcoming, which allowed me to be involved and understand the innerworkings of the society. This has helped me have a very good idea of how these events are structured and what makes them successful.
For that to happen I believed that new and unique sales strategies are extremely important and would be my primary focus in this role to make the experience for members unforgettable!
I have some previous experience in helping in my local Indian society with running events as well as making posters and promotions for them.
One of the best things about Hindu Society is its diversity of events. Not only does it have partying events such as Diwali Ball but also events like Garba, which allows the essence of this society to shine. Next year, I will strive to make these events the best yet !
Hi, I’m Shefali and I’m a first year Mechanical Engineering student. My experience at UCL so far would be incomplete without the events organised by Hindu Society, namely Diwali Ball, Take Me Out and the club nights. Therefore, I am applying for the role of sales and marketing officer as I appreciate the importance of these events in shaping people’s experience at UCL. Taking on the role of Finance Director of my Young Enterprise team taught me how to monitor sales and create aesthetic, yet comprehensive infographics to relay information clearly. Additionally, I have been developing my graphic design skills through web design projects, which have now further been improved as I’ve frequently been using CAD for my degree. My participation in design challenges, such as Imperial College’s ‘Maker Challenge’, are a clear indication of my passion for innovation and design. I therefore believe my creativity, coupled with my outgoing and confident nature, can help design bold visuals for our Instagram page and engaging ideas for Tik Toks, in efforts to ensure our events sell out in the coming year! Balancing the crippling workload that comes with university, sports and participating in a cultural fashion show has allowed me to collaborate with a range of individuals and learn to manage my time effectively. These are skills which I believe are vital traits of a successful sales and marketing officer, and I look forward to putting in my best efforts to expand our social media presence.
