Diplomacy Society: Vice President

Hello everyone, I’m Freya, a second year studying Politics and International Relations with a real interest in diplomacy, conflict resolution and peacekeeping. I have really enjoyed my role as Head of Events this year and would be honoured to continue working within the Committee.

Having been part of the Society for two years I have built a good understanding of how both the Society and Committee run. I loved organising the Dutch Embassy visit, and, through working within the Head of Events team, alongside the Committee, I understand how the event-planning process works. I would feel confident coordinating teams and ensuring everything runs smoothly next year. I am also a member of one of the teams organising the London University Diplomatic Summit, therefore am already developing experience regarding how the event is organised, and would be excited to play a larger role in developing it next year.

Outside of my course I am Fitness Captain of the UCL Swimming Club, therefore I am used to, and enjoy, taking on responsibilities outside of my studies. The role involves mentoring swimmers of all abilities to improve their confidence as a personable and encouraging Captain. I am a collaborative team-player with a broad communication skillset, having been Deputy Head Girl and Political Editor of the school newspaper during Sixth Form.

I am a friendly and dedicated individual, always willing to listen to new suggestions.
