Welcome to the Departmental Society of the School of European Languages, Culture and Society at University College London! We're a group of students who are passionate about all things European - from the languages we speak to the cultures we celebrate.

Our society is a place where you can come together with like-minded individuals, explore new perspectives and expand your horizons. Heroes, Hair and Gender (SELCS Society talk)

Join the UCL SELCS Society for our third talk of the year from the amazing Professor Sebastian Coxon! He will do some readings of European heroic literature (most likely from German, Old Norse, Spanish, French) with reference to hair motifs, looking at construction and thematization of gender (with reference to both male and female figures) in some foundational European texts
