German Society

Willkommen!

Join UCL German Society, one of UCL's largest cultural societies with over 300 members every year! We are the place for anyone interested in German culture and the German language. This includes Germans and non-Germans.

What's on?

German classes at every level, from complete beginner upwards. Free for all members.
Stammtisch, our fortnightly social.
Oktoberfest, the biggest night in our calendar. Lederhosen and Dirndl very much encouraged.
Joint events with the German Societies at Imperial, King's, LSE, Oxford and Cambridge.
Career events, announced through the year.
Our football team, new this year and open to all abilities!

Membership

Full membership covers everything above. Your fee goes towards our language teachers, our speakers and the cost of running our events.Taster membership runs during Freshers' Week. It lets you come along to our Welcome and Induction events and get to know us first ;)

Student groups are run by UCL students and facilitated by Students’ Union UCL. The Union is an educational charity and part of how it supports the education of students at UCL is through facilitating a diverse range of opportunities for students to run, join and experience different interests, groups and activities. Each student group decides its own events, activities and views (within our risk management framework).

Student groups are intended to represent the full range of views amongst our diverse student community. The Union does not endorse, approve or speak for any student group, and their statements and activities do not represent the Union’s position.
