Welcome to what is, in our most humble opinion, the very best society at UCL!

Where else can you find such a wide variety of opportunities? From acting to directing, producing to designing... we've got it all! UCL Drama Society offers an abundance of experience that, as well as being great for a well-rounded CV, also provides a chance to socialise with a diverse bunch of people who all love to create.

Our ethos as UCL Drama Society is to provide as many opportunities as possible for as many people as possible, regardless of dramatic experience. Thus, we offer a range of opportunities at a variety of levels, from friendly workshops to large-scale productions. Our weekly workshops include introductions to acting, practitioners, theatre companies, and even talks and events run by industry professionals.

We aim to put on one or two large-scale shows a year in our very own Bloomsbury Theatre, as well as several other smaller shows. Last year's show, Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband, received high praise amongst the UCL Arts community and beyond. This year's shows - Lucy Kirkwood's The Welkin and Patrick Ness' A Monster Calls' - are anticipated to be even more successful.

Our smaller shows are a fast-paced and exhilarating way of discovering your dramatic identity alongside other talented student theatre-makers. Past productions have taken place in London theatres, UCL buildings, and even outside as promenade performances!

As well as plays we often put on festivals throughout the year, such as the New Writing Festival, Foreign Language Festival, and of course, our acclaimed BAME and PRIDE showcases! These are an ideal chance for actors, directors, writers, and producers to showcase more experimental theatre regardless of their experience.

Regardless of your relationship to performance - from aspiring to be the next Tom Hanks, to being a casual watcher - we have a place for you! UCL Drama Society is a community that is inclusive and welcoming of all abilities, dedicated to entertaining, challenging, and inspiring.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us, even just to say hello. We’re looking forward to meeting you all very soon. In the meantime, be sure to follow our social media accounts for more exciting news!

Keep an eye on our socials for announcements of this year's Bloomsbury Theatre shows...
