About Us
So what exactly is consulting? Good question! A lot of us were asking the same thing when we first came across this society. In short, you advise clients on the problems they cannot solve on their own, across almost any industry you can think of.
Still vague? That is because the range is genuinely enormous, from management and strategy consulting to technology, life sciences and environmental consulting. Whatever your subject background, there is a part of this industry that needs your skills, and we are here to help you find it.
Our Events
We run company presentations, panels and fireside chats with firms like Capgemini, BCG and Deloitte, and we invite speakers who are relatable and will actually tell you something useful about their careers. Every session includes time for questions. Alongside these, we run sector-focused evenings on technology, life sciences, healthcare and corporate sustainability because our members study very different things and our programme should reflect that.
Our Projects
Every year, we source client projects with start-ups, charities and established organisations and members apply to join a team as a student consultant or project manager. This year we will be running 10 projects to apply for! Teams are supported by mentors from the consultancies you are already applying to, so you are not working it out alone and you finish with something concrete to talk about in interviews.
Case Competitions
Our flagship event is The Consulting Summit, the UK's largest inter-university case competition. In 2025, it brought together 25 teams from 17 universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, LSE and Imperial, and it will be back this year! We also run smaller competitions throughout the year, several of them with other universities.
The Consulting Gala
This December, we are running our inaugural Consulting Gala, an end-of-year evening bringing together our members, partner firms and everyone who has worked with us across the year. Details will follow in Term 1.
Skills and Application Workshops
Solving cases will become very important on your path to a consulting career, so we run regular case workshops alongside CV, cover letter and interview preparation. Members also get our 124-page Consulting Guide.
