Located at the heart of UCL's Bloomsbury campus, we pride ourselves on being a friendly and inclusive gym with something for everyone.
We boast a 90 piece fitness suite, free weights section, a range of smart exercise machines including resistance machines, and a studio space for you to do your own exercises and recently refurbished changing areas. Read more about our facilities. Plus as a UCL guest you're entitled to a special discount, meaning you'll never need to miss a workout again when staying on campus.
Usually day passes cost £10 (weekends) - £12 (weekdays), but as a UCL summer resident you'll be able to access our great facilities for just £8 on weekends and £9 on weekdays. Don't forget to keep your receipt as you can revisit the gym as much as you like on the day of your pass.
For additional fees we also have squash courts, sports massage facilities, and equipment to loan on site too.
To claim your discount, you'll need to purchase a day pass from reception at Bloomsbury Fitness. Just show your keys and tell the receptionist you're staying in a UCL Summer residence and we'll apply the discount for you. You can then go on an enjoy your workout.

- Where can I find Bloomsbury Fitness?
You can find us on the third floor of the Bloomsbury Theatre Building on Gordon Street (don't worry there is a lift so your workout doesn't need to start right away.

It's easy when you come to Bloomsbury Fitness, you'll need to go to reception to purchase you day pass. Please tell the receptionist you are stating in a UCL summer residence and show them your room key. They'll then be able to apply your discount.
- I'm a UCL student staying in a accommodation during the summer. Do I qualify?
If you are a UCL student staying on campus over the summer then you are already entitled to our discounted student rates which offers you the best deal for accessing the gym. If you're purchasing a day pass, you'll just need proof of your status as a UCL student.
- I am a UCL staff member staying in UCl residences over the summer. Do I qualify?
As a member of staff you are already entitled to our discounted staff rate (which is the same saving offered to summer residences guests). You are entitled to either discount - two discounts cannot be applied at the same time.
- Do you have to be over 18 to use the gym?
To use Bloomsbury Fitness you must be at least 17 years old. If you are 18 or over you an use the gym at your leisure, however if you are 17 you must pre-arrange an induction so please email su.bfadmin@ucl.ac.uk
- How much does it cost?
Usually our day passes cost £10 on weekends and £12 weekdays but we are offering our Summer Residents passes at the discounted rate of £8 on weekends and £9 on weekdays!
- Can I purchase a day pass in advance?
Unfortunately guests cannot purchase day passes in advance at the current time.
- Is the gym open to the public?
Bloomsbury Fitness is open to anyone - from students and staff to alumni or general members of the public. All our membership options can be found on our website
- I've forgotten an item. Can you loan me any equipment?
Our reception desk is stocked with a number of useful items for sale should you have forgotten anything. We also have great extras to fuel your workout.
- What's included with my day pass?
Day pass users get access to the full facility for the day - this means, as long as you hang on to your receipt, you can make more than one visit in that day if you wish! We also have classes you are welcome to attend if there is space, so take a look at our timetable for more information.
- Why do I need to purchase a day pass for the gym separately?
Bloomsbury Fitness' facilities are provided by a separate organisation, Students' Union UCL, to your residential booking. This is why you need to pay separately from your residential booking as and when you wish to use these additional facilities.
As a charity the Students' Union reinvests all profits made by the gym (and any of their other commercial outlets on campus) directly back into supporting UCL's student community - helping to fund societies, hardship funds, student activities and support.- I have a different question...
