Written by Elisa de Aragao Bibay, Women's Officer
Happy International Women's Day! Today, we come together to celebrate women's resilience, achievements, and limitless potential, honour their remarkable achievements worldwide, and recognise their invaluable contributions to our community.
I want to take a moment to spotlight the fantastic work of our student societies and the Women's Network throughout the past year. From thought-provoking events and engaging workshops to impactful campaigns, they have been at the forefront of driving positive change.
Thank you for being so committed to creating a more equitable and supportive environment for all members of our community.
As your Women's Officer, I've had the privilege of working alongside these passionate students, and it's been an absolute joy. Together, we've tackled essential issues, shared stories, and supported each other in our journey towards gender equality.
But this is only the beginning. As we celebrate our achievements today, let's also look forward with enthusiasm and determination. Let's continue to challenge stereotypes, break down barriers, and amplify women's voices in every corner of our university.
On this International Women's Day, let's reaffirm our commitment to creating a campus where everyone feels safe, respected and valued.
Thank you to all who contribute to this important mission. Here's to a future filled with even greater progress and equality for all.
Happy International Women's Day to all UCL students!
