Darcy, your Postgraduate Officer, shares how she is continuing to develop her programme of careers events

As your Postgraduate Officer, I've been working hard to create more opportunities for postgraduate students and expand your experience at UCL.

Last year, I launched a series of in-person events under the Career Supercharger programme, including Networking Practice with Alumni, People Management and Public Speaking workshops, career panel talks, and more.

I designed these events to empower students to develop transferable skills, explore different career paths, build confidence, and connect with professionals who've walked similar journeys.

This year, we're taking the programme a step further.

Introducing the Global Alumni Webinar Series

To make our career initiatives more accessible and globally connected, I’ve started developing our brand-new Global Alumni Q&A Webinar Series. These webinars bring together inspiring UCL graduates working across diverse industries and regions.

Through these live sessions, alumni share their career journeys, job-hunting tips, and reflections on transitioning from university life to the professional world. Whether you're considering returning home after graduation or exploring opportunities abroad, these webinars offer authentic, first-hand insights you won't find anywhere else.

My hope is that these events will really benefit your overall experience, helping to bridge the information gap and enhance career prospects.

How you can get involved

We’ve got lots of events planned over the coming months. Before Christmas, we’ll be running two special sessions: the China Edition and the Singapore Edition, featuring UCL alumni who have built exciting careers in these regions.

Interested in hosting an event? We welcome collaborations with cultural societies, career-related societies, academic reps and student groups to co-create future sessions for your members, tailored to your region, industry and community. If you’d like to get involved, please email: [email protected].
