Access requirements

To manage memberships, you must be a member of the su.sg.c&sadmin security group. This should be done when you start your role at the Union.

All the club and society mailboxes are shared mailboxes which means we do not have passwords for them and they are accessed by adding the mailbox to the users account.  All the Club & Society mailboxes are owned and managed by the Union.

If it is a shared mailbox, it is fine to ignore any password resets that might be received by it. Access is not controlled by passwords, though some older society mailboxes may have had an account originally associated with it and then removed.

In order to access them a user must be added to the necessary access group.

  1. The Presidents and Treasures should be added to the ‘SendOnBehalfGroup’
  2. To add or remove users you must be in the owners group.

We have a Security Group called su.sg.c&sadmin which is the Owner of all Club & Society Mailboxes. Any member of the Security group will be an owner of the mailbox and can add and remove users. Su.systems will keep the su.sg.c&sadmin group up to date.
