Slack can always be used in any web browser. However there are also application versions of it.

  • Users with a Desktop@UCL machine (a standard UCL laptop) should be able to install via the Software Centre:
    1. Open your start menu and search "Software Centre"
    2. In the top right, search for Slack.
    3. Click on it and click "Install".
    4. This version may need an update once installed.
    5. If it is not showing the Software Centre, download installer as below and contact ISD to install it ([email protected])
  • On non-UCL laptops, or if Slack is not in the Software Centre, users can visit the Slack website, and then download and install the latest version of Slack directly onto the machine. Visit https://slack.com/intl/en-gb/downloads
  • For mobile devices, find the app in your app store.
