Hi guys! My name is Francesca and I would love to be your Plastic Surgery chair next year! I have always dedicated myself to getting involved in this field through helping society subcommitees organising plastics-oriented events, to shadowing and networking with UCLH Plastic Surgeons. Recognising the many misconceptions surrounding this specialty, my aim as chair is to increase its visibilty by creating a larger community, building partnerships between surgeons around London and aspiring students.

My vision inclused fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment, where you can learn what it takes, creating a space for dialogue, knowledge sharing and mentorships. I know it is hard to gain experice in your area of interest, but my goal is to streamline that process, helping students glean firsthand insight into this multifaceted discipline. I hope to make it easier for all members to get involved in the educational events, meaningful workshops and talks I look forward to organising!

My interests lie specifically in tissue engineering and the integration of AI in plastic surgery, and during my tenure, I would want to bridge these two fields together by strengthening the rapport with the MedTech and Bioengineering societies amongst many others.

I hope I have been able to show my passion and drive for what I want to achieve in this position and I firmly believe that with me as chair, Plastic Surgery at UCL can provide some truly invaluable opportunities to everyone.
