MT Society has been a highlight of my 1st year at UCL. From performing in Blooms to soon performing as a clock (yes, an actual clock) in Beauty and the Beast, there's so much I've enjoyed about being part of this society. I really want to offer the freshers next year, and continuing members, a range of workshops to develop new skills as well as foster the fantastic talent we already have within this society.

Here are a few of my ideas!!

Cross-society Collabs:

  • Working with ArtsUCL Societies to:
  1. Introduce new approaches to acting.
  2. Try alternative dance styles.
  • Developing new skills whilst offering opportunities to meet other people within ArtsUCL, expanding our MT community.

Theatre Visits!

  • Reaching out to nearby venues and discuss potential opportunities for members to visit.

Regular Training Opportunities:

  • Developing production skills: Core prod (Directing, MD-ing, Choreographing), but technical ones too (e.g. Costume Design).
  • Collaborating with MT industry professionals -- offering insight into the life of a working professional.

A workshop I have in mind, in particular, is one geared towards helping those who want to move onto drama school post-grad. Bringing in a range of both industry and alumni professionals to explain the processes and options they have will be invaluable.

These are just a few of the ideas I have now; and if elected, I'd love to hear any and all suggestions!
