I am standing for MedTech Technology Officer because I am a huge fan of the work MedTech does from hackathons to support schemes and I can't wait to see it achieve even more over the coming academic year.

As a MSc Health Informatics student I have a huge passion for medical technology and am looking forward to doing a dissertation next year on the applications of ML in genomics. I won this year's UCL #Learnhack hackathon with an AI to extract quantitative methods from biomedical research papers and am currently using UCL ChangeMakers funding to expand the project over the summer.

Following on from my Bachelor's in Computer Science, I have spent the year working part time on a range of MedTech projects including an app to manage Hypoglycemia and a service to support patient safety for the Visually Impaired. I believe this work makes me highly knowledgeable about the state of the field and well equipped to lead on technology issues.

One of the highlights of my undergrad was serving as Events Officer for the Computer Science society and I would be honoured and thrilled to serve as your Technology Officer for the coming year. I won the University of Manchester Stellify Award for leadership and would feel confident in applying my skills to this role.

Here's to another amazing year of MedTech Society!
