Maame Prakah-Asante

Hello everyone,

I will be entering my second year of Applied Medical Science with a personal passion for the fast-paced sector of technology in healthcare.

As chair, here are a few ideas I would love to implement:

  • Providing accessible presentation resources from guest speakers.
  • Incorporating more networking breaks between speakers
  • Conducting surveys to gauge preferences

Throughout my first year, I encountered numerous MedTech events. I would love to give back to the society that has personally helped me so much. I am committed to using my experiences and skills to help keep MedTech great :)

Zahra Khan

Hi! I'm Zahra and I'm applying for the role of Technology in Healthcare Chair.

I am passionate about new and exciting cutting-edge technologies and their applications in healthcare. As a candidate, I'd love to spearhead initiatives that bring these topics together and deliver informative and fun events on these subjects. Through my leadership, I hope to events more interesting and accessible to everyone in the society and collaborate with guest speakers and companies to offer better opportunities for career development in the Medtech field.

Here's why you should entrust me with your vote:

1. I understand the importance of collaboration and inclusivity in driving meaningful change. If elected, I will actively seek input from students, faculty, and industry experts to ensure that our initiatives reflect diverse perspectives and expertise, perhaps through regular surveys to see what topics society members are interested in and monthly newsletters.

2. I strive to take an action- orientated approach. As Chairperson, I will work hard to turn ideas into action, whether that means organising more frequent workshops and seminars, or forging partnerships with healthcare institutions and tech companies.

3. I am committed to delivering the best possible results through teamwork and cooperation. I believe my organisational skills and creativity would be very useful when cooperating with the other members of the committee to plan and hold events.

As a Technology in Healthcare Chair, I'd make sure to bring a fresh perspective on tasks

Francesca Pucci

Hi everyone! My name is Francesca and as a passionate advocate for the intersection of technology and healthcare, I am adamant to create a space for knowledge sharing, meaningful teaching and mentorship for members of this society.

My experience is defined by helping to organise workshops on the use of AI in medicine, and being involved in audits centred around their commitment to improve healthcare outcomes through technological advancements. We are so lucky to be at a university that is spearheading innovation in this field and so my aims as chair of this committee are clear:

Firstly, I would like to foster a dynamic and inclusive conferences for exploration of the latest advancements in technology; encouraging discussion and collaboration on projects occurring at UCL and outside, and building a strong rapport with our research teams. This would involve talks from researchers on their projects, and creating opportunities for people to get involved.

Secondly, I will organise events and networking opportunities with companies using technology to revolutionise healthcare. Through my involvement in multiple societies at UCL, I have a large network of people that are equally as passionate to collaborate.

Lastly, I want to organise cross-society events to not only increase visibility for this field, but to also promote discussion and partnership, something the field of technology in healthcare is centred around!

Why was the computer cold? Becuase it left its windows open! :)
