Live Music has played an integral part of my time here at UCL and being able to be on its committee would be a privilege and a pleasure.

Having written and directed my own show, organised charity events raising more than £1500, and participated in more than 15 ArtsUCL shows, I not only understand how ArtsUCL works but also how to run an event. As such, I would be able to act as a reliable, organised, House Band Director. I would bring House Band back into the fore of Live Music, giving freedom to the bands within the confines of particular themed nights (such as the Heartbreakers Gig), and as such would have bands send me their set lists in advance.

It would be a pleasure to act in this role and to serve on committee!

Hello everyone! My name is Chris and for the past year I’ve been Events Officer for Live Music Society, I also have experience as a band director having been an MD for Rhapsody 2024. Having really enjoyed being part of House Band and Function Band this year, I would love to have the opportunity to take on a more active role in it, and have a few ideas on how it could be further improved. First of all, I believe a nice improvement would be to have regular weekly rehearsal, on a fixed day/time which band members agree upon before joining function band, in order to ensure that we would be fully prepared to perform whenever we are called up for a gig. I also believe it would be beneficial to have function band auditions in the summer before term starts so rehearsals can begin as soon as possible. I would also like to work more closely with the events officers and have house band perform as the opening act at every gig. Having previously been an events officer, I know this would be beneficial as it would help build an audience at the start of gigs before later bands.
I hope to be a part of Live Music Committee again this year, and continue to contribute to the society as House Band director! Hope you’ll vote for me :)
