Sreehari Pillai

Hey everyone! I’m Sreehari, a second-year medical student, and I’m running to be Sponsorship Director.

For the role of sponsorship officer, I believe the skills of negotiation, leadership and communication are most important. I demonstrate these skills through my various experiences. I interned at Bank of Ireland’s school bank division as a marketing manager where I was in charge of a team of students who advertised the bank around schools. Through developing innovative marketing ideas we hit our target of 100 new accounts. This helped me foster my leadership skills. Furthermore, selling the idea of opening accounts and the benefits to students allowed me enhance my negotiation skills as well. Also as a Medical student, I have had the opportunity to develop my communication skills through placements and tutoring younger students. These skills are essential for discussing, forming connections and agreements with businesses for sponsorship.

In my role, I hope to arrange beneficial sponsors for HEMP events that will allow better events and help minimise costs to attendees.
