Initially I was reluctant to stand for this role, succumbing to the notion that “one day” I’ll be ready but “he who observes the wind will not sow and he who regards the clouds will not reap” (Ecclesiastes 11:4). So I’ve decided to take this step in faith trusting that God will help me and equip me with what I need so I can use the ability He has given me to serve Him.
Heya, I’m Joy-Nora and I am excited to be running for the role of VOCE Bible Study officer!
As a Believer, the living Word is a central part of my daily life and is something that I am deeply passionate about.
In my own life, I’ve seen the transformative power of His Word, to renew minds (Romans 12:2), soften hearts (Ezekiel 36:26) and stir up faith (Romans 10:17).
From this experience, I now understand why God has instructed us Christians to ‘go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature’ (Mark 16:15).
Hence, I desire to be one of many Voices on Campus Expressing the Gospel; taking up my mantle, as one who (like every other believer) is called to fulfill ‘The Great Commission’ (Matthew 28:16-20).
As prospective Bible study leader, I aim to use my platform to strengthen and encourage fellow believers in their faith. As someone who has had their fair share of faith failures and spiritual setbacks, I can attest to the fact that staying on the narrow path is far from easy. However, in those times when my strength was waning, it was communities like VOCE that helped me to ‘build myself up in my most holy faith’ (Jude 1:20).
Therefore, next year, I desire to pour back into this society by fostering an environment of spiritual edification and vulnerability with God. I believe that by praying with one another and delving deeper into His Word, we can collectively build each other up, for the ultimate purpose of glorifying the King and walking in His will.
