Jiwan Choi

Hello! I am Jiwan Choi, a soon-to-be second year Chemical Engineering student from Korea running for the position of your next G4 Coordinator.

As an aspiring Chemical Engineer, I have completed numerous STEM-centred competitions. All of these contribute towards my enthusiasm for building towards a sustainable energy industry and protecting our environment.

But here’s the catch – to achieve goals we have set, such as our carbon-neutral goals, we must bring the issue into the spotlight, generating academic discussions on the topic. Hence, I believe that our flagship G4 Conference is a vital platform to create the change we wish to see!

As a candidate for the role, I am equipped with inter-collegiate communication skills, frequently engaging in events from universities across the UK, such as Imperial’s competitions or University of Surrey’s Open days, in addition to attending lectures at the University of Cambridge. With a particular interest in carbon capture, I have also already began communicating with experts in the field to converse on the fascinating issues surrounding the politics and economics of sustainable energy development.

With such experience, as well as good organisation skills (most of the time!), I will dedicate my efforts into liaising with other collegiate energy societies and guest speakers. With your vote, as your next G4 coordinator, I hope to bring the next G4 Conference to life :)
