Hello everyone! I'm your friendly chemist, Mayukh! Currently a 2nd year (soon to be 3rd hopefully) Chemistry student, and a dedicated member who has been passionately involved in drama from my high school days, I am excited to put forth my candidacy for the Treasurer. I've the necessary skills in budgeting, accounting and financial data handling and have previously managed the finances of Southwark Cathedral. If elected Treasurer, I promise not only to keep our finances in stellar condition but also to infuse our budgeting process with innovative and efficient funding strategies:
Budget Workshops: Introduce interactive sessions where we’ll collaboratively plan and refine budgets for each show and society activity. This will ensure that everyone is involved and informed from the get-go.
Timely Transactions: Commit to managing all reimbursements swiftly and accurately, ensuring that there is no unnecessary waiting for payments. This will keep our relationships strong and our reputation solid.
Rigorous Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all transactions, invoices, and contracts, ensuring that we are always transparent with our finances.
Creative Fundraising: Spearhead innovative fundraising initiatives, such as themed theatre productions and joint ventures with other societies, which will increase our visibility and funding.
I am committed to making our society financially sound and spectacularly inventive that supports our productions and our ambitions!
Hii I am Shria and I am thrilled to be running as the treasurer for drama soc next year!
In my time at UCL I have spent more time in Arts than my degree, but I have absolutely enjoyed every bit of it. With experience in producing various shows, events and festivals I've gained crucial insights into admin and money related matters that are vital for every production and society's success.
From organising contracts and managing budgets to form-filling, I've handled it all—and I actually enjoy it! This experience has not only equipped me with the necessary skills but has also ignited a passion for ensuring everything runs seamlessly. Going forward in the coming year, I will strive to ensure that UCL Drama Society continues its legacy as a society that celebrates not only theatre and theatre making but also fosters a supportive community where creativity thrives, and so I would love the opportunity to be your treasurer! :))
Hi! I'm Seth and I am a 2nd Year Philosophy student - on paper. In practice, I spend far more time on ArtsUCL than my degree, having just finished my 8th show.
As Treasurer, I want to support the community of UCL Drama in the creation of innovative and exciting theatre, ensuring efficiency in processing requests and responding to queries. Having co-produced UCL Drama's Blooms show this year, I understand production finance can be daunting. I want to help production teams navigate finance so that all productions can feel confident and supported.
I will:
1. Host drop-in sessions for prospective producers so they can learn about how to create budgets and how to maximise them during the production process.
2. Ensure comprehensive financial backing so that productions can make the most of the exciting changes taking place in ArtsUCL next year (including increased availability of the Bloomsbury Drama Studio)
3. Ensure that where money can be spent, it will be. Creative, compelling theatre needs adequate financial support and my spending ethos as Treasurer will reflect this.
I hope those who I have been lucky enough to work with are aware of my commitment and passion for this society, and I hope those who I have not can trust that I will be an engaged, approachable and detail-orientated Treasurer. Next year I am determined to ensure that productions feel tangibly supported so we can continue to make the shows that make us, undeniably, the best society at UCL.
