Beekeeping Society: President

If I am elected president of the Beekeeping Society, I will revive this society and help to create a community for people seeking to share their interest in the protection of bees :)

Bees and pollinators in general play a vital yet often disregarded role in the world today: they are at the foundation not only of the food production system, but of the ecosystem. Protecting bees, whether they produce honey or not, is vital to the fight against climate change. 

My plans for the society include: 

• First and foremost, reviving the society's instagram account and creating a groupchat (I am currently redesigning the logo)
• Raising awareness on bees and beekeeping through teaching, social media posts, sharing sources of information, workshops and Kahoot quizzes
• Collaborations with other societies (Climate Action Society, Animal Rights Society, etc...) and with external organisations and speakers so as to raise awareness on the larger significance of beekeeping and the holistic approach to fighting against climate change. 
• Honey tastings (NB: honey is very often tempered with by adding sugar syrups in it, a direct consequence of profit-seeking companies and of the endangerment of bees. These practices are harmful)
• Visits related to beekeeping
• Movie screenings 
• Collaborations with charities
