Scarlett Guo

Hi! I'm Scarlett, a BA student in French and History of Art. I am excited to be running for the Marketing Officer in the Art Business Society next term.

I look forward to coming back to London this September from my year abroad in France to complete my final year and to come back to the Art Business society. It had introduced me to the fascinating commercial art world through its amazingly diverse programme of events and the community-like space it creates where, much like the art world, people meet and connect for and through art. As Marketing Officer, I will help the committee to create more memorable experiences that are as inspiring as they are fun and actively promote the society and the wonderfully wide array of events it has to offer. As well as making sure the latest news and event details are advertised on social media, I would like to employ a more hands-on approach to marketing and advertising, combining infographics with engaging themed content in diverse visual formats across different platforms to reach a wider audience. Whether it is vlogs of museum/gallery visits, film recordings of talks and panel discussions or snapshots of everyone having a great time (or getting drunk) during the pub social, with my laptop, camera and tripod I am ready to get stuck in and get into action with you all. Together we can help the society increase its Instagram followers and make a successful comeback on its YouTube channel after three years!

Thank you for your consideration.

Lauren Tang

Hi! My name is Lauren and I'm currently a second-year BA History of Art student from Hong Kong, and am very interested in being the Art Business Society's Marketing Officer next year.

If elected, I aim to elevate our society's initiatives and standing within UCL. In my previous role as the History of Art Society's Welfare Officer, I coordinated events like the Frans Hals Exhibition, the Embroidery Art talk, and the Chinese Ceramics Talk. I plan to continue these social yet informative events for our members.

While our society already has an excellent lineup of industry professional talks, I aim to integrate more commercial art industry career opportunities. This could potentially be career fairs, workshops, and other networking events. These initiatives would not only help you build a strong foundation of networks but also provide opportunities to meet and seek advice from professionals. This is significant as I understand that many students, like myself, seek a foundation that acts as a stepping stone into the art business world.

For promotion, I propose utilising our Instagram platform to inform members about exhibitions and events, share success stories of professionals and practices, and conduct interviews with industry experts. This approach would enhance engagement with both our members and a broader audience.

Thank you for your consideration, I am excited about the prospect to be joining the committee next year!

Judy Hu

Hii everyone! My name is Judy Hu and currently a 2nd year History of Art student. I'm ethnically Chinese but I grew up in Spain.

I believe I could be a competitive marketing officer for the following reasons:

1) I have several years of experience managing social media and content promotions ever since high school, running Instagram profiles and other social media platforms as the president of an entrepreneur club. I also worked as a Student Ambassador for Unite Students and UCL during my first year where I was in charge of poster designs, event organisations, and communicating with students staying on UCL accommodations as well as partner companies.

2) My international background allowed me to explore and welcome cultural diversity, as well as my communication and linguistic skills.

3) I speak 4 languages, including Spanish and Chinese (bilingual), English and French. I grew up being the unofficial translator for my family and friends, which gave me the opportunity to enhance my communication skills in all sorts of environments.

I have been a passionate art enjoyer since I was little, majoring in History of Art already in high school. I would absolutely love to become a member of the Art and Business Society and dedicate my time to contributing to the team!

Milan Bodis

Dear Members of the Art Business Society at UCL,

I am honored to nominate myself for the position of Marketing Officer. As a fourth-year student returning from a year abroad in Canada, I am pursuing a double major in History of Art and French. During the part 10 years I have had the privilege to work and live across seven countries, enriching my understanding of art, culture and international business.

My hands-on experience in the art and marketing world includes significant contributions to the organization of Europe's largest street art exhibition, Beyond Streets, during my time at the Saatchi Gallery. Additionally, I've had the privilege of working on projects at the Design Museum as part of an opportunity found through UCL careers.

With a passion for fostering genuine connections and utilizing all the available resources, I am committed to transforming our society into a dynamic platform that bridges academia with real-world opportunities. Let's collaborate to turn aspirations into achievements and ensure that the Art Business Society serves as a catalyst for your future success.

Thank you for considering my candidacy. I am excited about the possibility of leading and serving our community with dedication and enthusiasm.

Warm regards,

Milan Bodis
