I am running for Global Health Secretary because I am passionate about tackling global health challenges and empowering students to engage with these issues. My background as a medical student and experience as a tutor have prepared me well for this role, equipping me with solid communication, organisational, and leadership skills. I’m committed to expanding UCL Global Health Society’s impact, promoting research opportunities, and creating a supportive, inclusive community.
As Secretary, I aim to broaden the reach of our research exchange programme by forming partnerships that provide internships and placements, helping students gain real-world experience in global health. To engage a wider audience, I plan to create an interdisciplinary “Global Health Insights” series featuring short workshops and lectures, ensuring accessibility for all. Additionally, I would introduce smaller group sessions and informal “town hall” discussions to foster a connected and supportive environment where students can discuss pressing global health topics.
My commitment to inclusivity and cultural sensitivity is reflected in my volunteer experiences, where I’ve supported diverse communities. I want to create an environment where all students feel valued and empowered to contribute. I am excited to bring fresh ideas to the Society and build on its success, fostering an engaged and active student community dedicated to global health. Thank you for considering my candidacy for the position of Global Health Secretary.
