Proposed Constitution

Summary of the Proposed Changes:

  • The addition of a ‘Space at the Table’ (SATT) Representative.
    • Why? This means that even if there is no appropriate committee member to run this event this demographic-specific can run. It also reduces the burden on the welfare officer (who has always been female) to run it and means we can host more welfare AND SATT events. It also means the overall job of the welfare officer is reduced as they currently have a LOT to do. It also proposes at least 2 SATT events will run per term, and will include events for ‘Transgender day of Visibility’, and ‘International Women’s Day’. They will meet with the welfare officer twice per term on a ‘Welfare Subcommittee’.
  • The addition of a ‘Community Liaison’ Representative.
    • Why? We have started a charity student-led project (SLP) and this needs running. It is called TTRPGs in schools. So far, we have been doing it ad-hoc on whoever wanted to be involved but it is LOTS of work, so this person will be able to take on that work. This role also includes a charitable arm of the committee so we can do more charity work, such as fundraising through merch or running charity events. Having a dedicated person to this will reduce the committee burden and make life much easier. It also means we can build links between us and charity societies. They will meet with the welfare officer twice per term on a ‘Welfare Subcommittee’.
    • Proposed jobs: Running TTRPGs in schools project (and all associated volunteering, school liaising, and paperwork elements), creating bonds between SFFS and more charity societies, securing permission letters from charities to fundraise, and running fundraising opportunities.
  • The needed associated additions to Welfare Officer needed so they meet with the ‘Welfare Subcommittee’.
