Network committee members actively support Student Officers that convene their network, and assist with the over-all decision making processes within the network.
The Treasurer shall:
- Ensure that all income and expenditure is accounted for.
- Work with the network convenor regarding budgets for any proposed events and activities.

I hope to make the Network a space where LGBTQ+ students can meet people, share experiences and feel comfortable being themselves. I would like to organise informal events such as queer karaoke and other low-pressure social activities, so that students can connect beyond formal meetings. I also want to listen to different experiences within the LGBTQ+ community, including those of less visible identities such as asexual and biromantic students, and make sure their perspectives are not overlooked.
I am biromantic and asexual, so I have personal experience of navigating university life as part of the LGBTQ+ community. I also have practical experience managing money: at school, I was responsible for handling class funds for a class of around 50 students, including collecting and paying for shared purchases. I am comfortable using Excel spreadsheets and keeping track of spending carefully. I am organised, responsible and willing to listen to people whose experiences may be different from my own.
I would bring a combination of personal understanding of LGBTQ+ experiences, practical experience with managing money, and a willingness to organise activities that help students connect. I am comfortable working with spreadsheets and keeping financial records, while also being interested in the social side of the Network. I would like to help create opportunities for students to meet others, discuss different experiences and make the Network welcoming to people with a wide range of identities.
🗂️ - I would take the lead in ensuring that the network’s finances are organised, enabling events to run effortlessly and without financial holdups.
🤝 - As Treasurer I would work with the other officers to support well-organised events and allow this network to continue to be a consistently safe and enjoyable space for the LGBTQIA+ community. In first year, the network provided me with a sense of belonging through prepared and welcoming events. I formed meaningful connections through tote bag making, queer movie night, and more - and now I wish to continue to foster this environment for all!
📖 - I am consistent and dependable, showing up wherever I am needed and taking pride in representing people and helping others to feel heard. I don’t hesitate to stand up and fight for the best opportunities for all.
🗣️ - Formerly a Senior Equality and Diversity Prefect, I have experience communicating with both staff and students to find solutions and fulfil a leadership role in which many people depend on my clear communication. I would reliably attend meetings, pitch ideas and present finances clearly to problem solve and support every single person in the network.
📝 - I find joy in organisation, the finer details, and dabbling in some light mathematics in my free time. I would not only fulfil my role to the highest standard, but take pride in it, enjoying the chance to keep the network running smoothly!
