What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
I'm MA Special and Inclusive Education student with a hearing impairment. I bring almost ten years of experience working with children with special needs, having started as a volunteer at the age of 17. My journey as an educator and a Conductive Education teacher, which studied in Hungary, has given me deep insight into the challenges faced by students with disabilities. I’ve worked with children who have neurologically-based functional disabilities and have learned how to support their unique learning journeys. My personal experience studying with a hearing impairment has also given me a strong understanding of the support students need to feel included, empowered, and equal in an academic environment.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
If elected as Representative, I aim to create a platform where students with disabilities can share their stories and experiences, helping others navigate the challenges of university life. I hope to raise awareness about the importance of inclusive programs like the Summary of Reasonable Adjustments (SORA), which ensures that all students, regardless of their circumstances, can study on equally. I plan to advocate for more resources and support for students with disabilities, working closely with the administration to improve the inclusivity of academic programs and student life.

Because I deeply understand the challenges that come with studying as a disabled student. I know firsthand how important it is to have the right support in place, and I’m committed to advocating for improvements that will benefit all disabled students. I’m passionate about inclusivity and ensuring that no one feels left behind. My experience, both professionally and personally, makes me uniquely qualified to represent disabled students and push for meaningful change. Together, we can create a university experience that truly supports the wellbeing of every student.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
Having been in 4 different British universities and spent over 7 years in the UK, I am quite familiar with the "ins and outs" of navigating bureaucracy in academia and life in UK. As such, I am aware of the things that need improvement for student life and can provide insightful advice to any student looking for representation!
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
- allowing approved SoRA extra times also in assessments that are less than 1 hour
- reducing walking distances between lectures or tutorials
- less weight of exam marks by increasing coursework weights to a minimum of 30% per module
- no shame in asking for Alternative Assessments: standardising available options so that module leads can be persuaded more easily to allow such requests
