As a postgraduate research (PGR) student, I am certainly preoccupied about how this journey will emerge. As an international student, I am worried about belonging to a community that would drive me forward and provide care and growth. Rest assured that your concerns are mine as well. I bring strong leadership from my previous years at UCL in 2019/202 as a postgraduate taught (PGT) student where we all experienced times of difficulty. I have an outcome-oriented mindset.
In a research-led institution, you are the most valuable asset, and you deserve more value and connection.
I have been a longstanding PhD faculty representative of the Bartlett School for two years consecutively. As well as a student representative for 1 year. Within this time it was extremely insightful to learn about the spatial and networking needs of the phd community and with this we founded PhDConnect! Which started as a funded BSSC department project consisting of 12 students to then winning a changemakers grant and escalating across the 9 Bartlett Departments for PhD students which has hosted over 170 students. https://www.ucl.ac.uk/bartlett/events/2023/feb/phdconnect-launch
PhDConnect! are being considered to two new grant applications from the Bartlett School with an amazing team of 6. I am therefore seeking a developmental role, as I believe their are extreme lessons learnt from this PhDConnect! that can be scaled across UCL and it would be a pleasure to transfer this knowledge outward.
My qualities are mainly apparently through my active spirit and go getter attitude! As a positive and bubbly individual I intend to be an active listener and observer to the needs of students yet equally action on these needs to ensure we are constantly striving for impact..

If students are looking for change both academic and social during the time they are students then i am the individual to lean into motivating and driving change. The learning environment is critical to our lasting experiences and I would be deeply honoured to ensure that lasting memories are retained to each and every students research journey.
With a robust research and student leadership background, I possess a unique blend of technical acumen and adept interpersonal capabilities. Serving as a research fellow has sharpened my analytical depth, and my role in student committees has cultivated my ability to communicate and collaborate effectively. My adaptability and commitment to creating a vibrant and supportive research student community at UCL underscore my suitability for this position.
Upon election, my foremost aspiration is to nurture an inclusive and thriving environment for research scholars. I intend to fortify the bridge of communication between the student body and the Union, ensuring swift and effective redressal of concerns. In partnership with the Postgraduate Officer, I will advocate for reinforced support mechanisms for PGTAs and expanded access to essential research amenities. My participation in key decision-making forums will consistently champion the welfare and aspirations of research students.
As a research scholar at UCL, I strongly urge all students to vote in my favour. My unwavering dedication to elevating the academic and social experience of UCL's research community sets me apart from other candidates. My balanced blend of research insight and leadership exposure has equipped me to adeptly address student concerns and champion the needs of the research fraternity. I pledge to serve as a diligent, accessible, and fervent advocate, always prioritising the collective voice of our esteemed research community.
