What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I aspire to enhance the hall experience by promoting a sense of belonging, resolving issues effectively, and organizing events that bring residents together. As hall rep, my goal is to ensure a positive and inclusive living environment for all.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I will bring strong communication skills, a commitment to inclusivity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. My dedication to fostering a vibrant and harmonious hall community, along with my willingness to listen and act on resident feedback, will contribute positively to this role.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Students should vote for me as hall representative because I am dedicated to amplifying their voices and addressing their concerns. I have a clear vision for enhancing our hall community, a strong commitment to inclusivity, and a track record of effective communication and problem-solving. I'll work tirelessly to make our hall an even better place to live and thrive.

Samuel Murciano Mendez Pacheco (He/Him)
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

As a Hall Community Officer, my biggest aim is to ensure that everyone feels at ease in the building; therefore, alongside other ideas, I would like to achieve these:

  • Make a system to ensure the safety of everyone living in New Hall by creating groups that would ensure you are not coming home alone, especially during the night.
  • Have a shared fridge and storage area to dispose of food, utensils and household affairs for somebody else to use.
  • Try making the Hall more eco-friendly by having a shop selling environmentally friendly items (products, paper, etc.)
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

Before coming to UCL, I had engaged in the student leadership team at my previous school and eventually got elected to Head Student. As part of this role, I organised several events, charities, workshops and projects. This will allow me to avoid making mistakes that someone with less experience might be prone to.
I consider myself a social and assertive person, which will be necessary when interacting with the community during the Welfare and Community Zone. I also speak several languages, which will help me engage with more people and avoid a potential language barrier.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

As a Hall Community Officer, I will make sure that your voice is heard, and I will make sure that even your whisper will have the same impact as chants. I want you to have the same experience that I wish on myself. I will ensure that every problem will be dealt with before you notice them. Your interest will become my interest, and I guarantee that during your time at New Hall, you will enjoy yourself and want to stay by the end of your time here.

By voting for me, you are not only doing me a favour, you are doing yourself one too.
