What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

My goals in this role can be summarised in one word: Community. The assortment of people from around the world filling the rooms of James Lighthill is an amazing opportunity to make some unique memories and I intend to jump on that opportunity ferociously. Through a constant stream of events both inside and outside the hall, I wish to insure that everyone feels welcome and comfortable. Creating this sense of community is important during the good times but is crucial when the going gets tough. I intend to make sure that JLH is a place where we can all flourish.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

Having boarded in school before university, I have seen what makes a good accommodation experience and what doesn't and I intend to bring this experience to JLH. I have also held administrative and leadership roles before such as Secretary of a society or leading a sports team. I believe the reason for this is because I've got an outspoken yet approachable personality and I will make sure that any complaints you may have are heard and go to the proper authorities. similarly, I am keen to hear ideas for events in the hall and will make sure everyone is a part of the decision making process.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

My ultimate aim is to make this year at JLH one we look back on fondly. I believe that we all wish to leave JLH with memories of fun and excitement with our wonderful hallmates I am willing to put in the hours necessary to make sure that it becomes a reality. Our time in university is a brilliant and formative period of our lives; it is a time of newfound freedom and daunting responsibility. However, with a family behind us we can overcome the challenges and rise to our best selves whilst having fun in the process. Vote for me to make JLH that family and to make our memories unforgettable.
