Tam Tangtrongjit (She/Her)
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

The primary role of a hall rep is to be an advocate for the needs and concerns of residents but also to build a safe and engaging environment for everyone. In doing this, I hope to achieve a set of interpersonal skills to help me grow and improve every day. First, clear and effective communication skills are essential. This can be achieved when listening to the concerns and ideas of my hallmates and effectively conveying these concerns to the relevant authorities. Furthermore, problem-solving skills such as identifying the arising issues and working toward practical solutions.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

In high school, I was an elected peer supporter, where we offered a welcoming and non-judgmental space for students seeking assistance with personal, academic, or emotional concerns. I also collaborated with school counsellors to identify students in need of extra support. As such, peer support trained me to be empathetic, understand the needs of my peers, and be able to connect with residents on a personal level.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I am super easy-going and organized, allowing my peers to feel safe to reach out and contact me!

Donna Amewu (she/her )
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I hope to create a closer community throughout the whole of accommodations. Moving away from home can be quite isolating so I plan to create more opportunities for everyone to foster close friendship through the organisation of various events. These can include movie  nights, a book club, or friendly competitions. Currently, although events are run, few people know about them. I would make sure that more students are engaged with Hall run events. I want to promote better communication, trust, and approachability between accommodation staff and students.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

At my previous school I was a boarding representative, giving me direct experience in advocating around accommodation centred issues. This makes me a uniquely experienced candidate. Furthermore, everyone would describe me as a friendly and approachable face to all while also being dedicated to helping others. Im not afraid to stand up for the causes that I believe in and will work diligently towards making sure that everyone has a great experience in halls. I am a confident public speaker and effective communication meaning meeting between staff and myself will be smooth and efficient.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Vote for Donna for an experienced, dedicated, and frendly individual who will help make your accommodation experience feel like home. If you choose me I will listen to all ideas and work towards actioning as many as I can. I believe it's the little things that make the experience more comfortable and so mo matter is too small or too silly to ask about. so vote Donna for someone who will put your voice first, no matter how quiet.
