The treasurer is generally responsible for the financial activities of the society, such as reimbursement, applying for grants, and expenditures.
Officially speaking, the treasurer shall hold office until the last day of term 3. This individual shall be a principal officer of the philosophy society and shall be jointly responsible for all financial matters of the club or society, and this individual shall authorise and record all expenditure on behalf of the philosophy society except for when they need to reclaim money themselves. In this case, the president shall authorise the expenditure. The treasurer may serve as a Council member and is eligible to apply for the Departmental Society Grant and will be responsible for applying for necessary grants or scholarships, the society budget, achieving financial aims, and ensuring financial accessibility of events.
