Hiii, I’m Nay. I’ve been a member of the Yoga & Meditation Club for almost two years, and I love being part of this amazing community! This year, I had the chance to be project manager, which was absolutely wonderful, and I would love to continue contributing to the society in a new way next year.
I am nominating myself for Treasurer to carry the values of this society and help everything run smoothly behind the scenes. First, I want to ensure that things flow in a clear, and most importantly fair way, so that everyone can fully enjoy their experience. Secondly, my time with this society has taught me how to approach different situations thoughtfully. I look forward to bringing this knowledge to help the society evolve in a way that reflects the members’ needs and priorities. Thirdly, I truly believe yoga should be accessible to everyone, so I want to make sure events are inclusive and affordable. Alongside my financial responsibility, I’d love to encourage more themed yoga sessions, skill-focused workshops, and fun socials, while continuing to enhance the retreat I had the chance to organise this year. This will give members the opportunity to explore a new yoga style, meet like-minded people, or simply find a moment of calm!
Overall, I’m just so excited for a new year of YogaSoc. I really love this club and its people, and it would make me incredibly happy to give back by bringing great vibes and loving energy as we continue growing our community :)
Yoga has become an unexpected passion of mine; initially dragged along to much protest it is now an integral part of my week. As one of the few boys in the society, I am keen to widen participation further and passionate to create an inclusive, safe space for all.
With everyone in the society I have found a community to laugh, fall down and grow both physically and mentally, a space to switch off from stresses and anxieties and spend time in appreciation of the human body, and I hope to contribute to this work as treasurer next year.
As an individual I am highly organised, managing a busy schedule of work and life commitments. As treasurer I will contribute to the efficient running of the society and organisation of expenses and events. I hope to be a visible and approachable member of committee, supporting all members to enjoy, socialise and share in the beauty of yoga we are privileged to practise.
Having experienced first-hand the positive effects of yoga and meditation, I decided to stand for Treasurer to ensure these benefits are accessible to as many people as possible. I am committed to ensuring our society runs smoothly, sustainably, and in a way that prioritises both organisation and the wellbeing of members.
As Treasurer, I will work closely with the committee to plan responsibly, balancing costs while making participation affordable. I will advocate for transparency in how funds are managed, so members feel confident that their contributions directly support the society and its events. I aim to ensure the smooth running of the society, so that it can, in turn, nurture the physical and mental wellbeing of every member.
