Klara Kurucova

Hi everyone! I’m Klara and I’m running for the position of communications officer.

In this role I would be dedicated to making the society an accessible and welcoming place for everyone. As communications officer, I would make it my priority to ensure that information from the committee reaches members clearly and consistently. I would be committed to making the organisation of classes and social events transparent and easy to navigate. Through this role I would like to maintain the sense of balance, calmness and community that yoga and meditation bring to a busy student life.

I really value the work that previous committees have put into building such a welcoming society, and I would love to continue the good practices already in place. At the same time, I would love to remain open to new ideas and suggestions from our members, so that we can continue growing together as a community.

For me, yoga is fundamentally about connection — between body, mind, environment and others — and I would love to help nurture that sense of connection through clear, thoughtful and welcoming communication within our society.

Thank you for your support! <3

Pia Jolly

Hi everyone! I’m Pia, a first-year Astrophysics student, and I’m delighted to be running for Communications Officer.

Having only started yoga and meditation this year, I understand how important clear and accessible communication is, especially for new members. When joining a new society, timely updates and straightforward information make all the difference in helping people feel confident and supported.

If elected, I would focus on ensuring that all emails and WhatsApp updates are clear, concise and well-organised. I would aim to send timely reminders about class schedules, announcements and social events so that no one misses out. I believe communication should be informative without being overwhelming, and structured in a way that is easy for everyone to read and understand.

I would also prioritise responding quickly and helpfully to questions on WhatsApp, creating an open and supportive line of communication between the committee and members.

As someone who was an unsure fresher not long ago, I know how reassuring clear communication can be. I would love the opportunity to help keep our society organised, connected and welcoming.

I'd also ensure to take feedback from members throughout the year in order to ensure that communications continue to be effective and helpful.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you’ll consider me to be our club’s next communications officer.

Maisie Mouncher

For the past two years, I've been an active member, and this year I've served as Outreach Officer on the committee. I've built connections with other societies to host fun events—like our energising Jiu-Jitsu session, empowering FemTech partnership, and vibrant Rhythm and Flow collabs—expanding our reach and bringing fresh energy.

Yoga has transformed my mental and physical health, giving me peace, strength, balance, and clarity. Inspired by this society's warmth, I'm heading to Bali in August for my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification. I'm eager to share new insights and inspiration with everyone. If elected, I'll lead communications with organisation, dedication, and genuine care. My top priority is keeping our community connected, informed, and excited—ensuring every member feels welcomed and in the loop.

Focusing on emails, WhatsApp, and teacher coordination, I'll provide clear, reliable info with good vibes. I'll send friendly emails with event details, reminders, quick yoga tips, and highlights. Our WhatsApp will stay warm: timely updates, fun polls, consented photos, light check-ins, and encouraging messages to join. I'll coordinate with teachers on timetables, changes, and feedback for smooth flow. Communications will be consistent, approachable, judgment-free, and full of kindness. I'll listen to feedback to improve.

Vote for a friendly, experienced yogi passionate about sharing yoga's magic—let’s stay strong, informed, and flowing together!
