Volleyball Club: Treasurer

Hey everyone! 

I’m Boren, and I’m running for Treasurer of everyone’s favourite society!

Bouncing and diving between the social scene on Sports Nights and the competitive side in BUCS matches from Essex to Bristol, I have managed to find even more reasons to pour more love into the sport I have cherished for 15 years. Volleyball has given me some really incredible lifelong memories and self-growth, and I am so happy to have found you guys here at UCL. As Treasurer, I intend to share this love with this community of passionate and fun individuals, and help even more people discover the beauty of Volleyball! 

My goals as Treasurer:

Accountability and Transparency: It’s everyone’s money, and I hold the only key to the chest. Finances will be kept clear, well-documented and communicated openly. No shady transactions, disappearing money.

Smart and Sustainable Finances: As a money-loving man of Chinese heritage, I will do my best to ensure every cent is spent wisely for what matters most to the society. I will ensure we find the sweet spot balancing costs with funding initiatives; The Society’s growth shall not be hindered by sloppy cashflows!

Make Volleyball Society Great Again: Expect fresh ideas, bold events, and a new vibrant energy in the society. I will bring a wealth of project and event planning experience, a creative spark and boundless enthusiasm to the table. I am so excited about the unlimited possibilities for my term, and the fun that we will all have together!

I’m Jane, your Welfare Officer and a loyal member of the club for the past 3 years.
I am looking forward to the coming year with UCL VB, and I would be honoured to continue in a new capacity as your Treasurer.

Why me:
- I have experience in different roles in 4 committees
- I am a social member who can provide a nice balance in the committee between competitive and social interests
- I have more time to do boring paperwork since I don’t have training hours as comp team members do :D
- I work for the SU societies team, so I can quickly escalate any issues within the society (also, I know a lot about running the society and its finances thanks to that)

- still can’t do the overhand serve
