Zubaida Hassan

Hi Everyone!

My name is Zubaida, and I’m standing for UCLUNA MUN Director because Model UN has shaped the last seven years of my life and I would love to give back to it in a leadership capacity.

In the past 7 years I’ve experienced MUN from every angle, as a delegate learning to be confident and since sixth form as a chair guiding debate and managing committees. These experiences have given me a great understanding of MUN as a whole. Not just knowing the rules, but knowing how to apply them fairly. One of my strongest skills is explaining procedure clearly and accessibly. MUN can feel intimidating especially for first timers and I take pride in my ability to break down complex rules into simple, understandable steps. I believe good leadership in MUN isn’t about enforcing authority, it’s about creating clarity and confidence.

As Director, I would bring organisation, fairness, and approachability. I understand how to maintain high  standards of debate while ensuring committee sessions remain welcoming and inclusive. I want to ensure that every delegate from beginner to experienced feels supported.

The position of Director isn’t just a role to me, it’s something that genuinely matters. I’ve grown through MUN, I’ve led within it and now I’m ready to shape it. If you’re looking for someone who understands procedure deeply, communicates it clearly and cares about every delegate’s experience, I would be honoured to serve as your Director.

Thank you

Sara O'Grady-Fenet

Over the past 3 years of my MUN journey, I’ve delegated in many conferences, chaired both GA committees and training sessions, and been a part of this society’s committee as a first year rep. I’ve attended every possible training sessions, as I’ve always been more into the MUN aspect of this society. With UCLUNA having given me so much, it’s time for me to give back and help run these sessions that I’ve loved so much.

Having spent so much time here, I’ve seen both aspects of this society that I love and things that I’d work on. If I were to be elected, my vision for this society is one with a chill, friendly and welcoming atmosphere whilst being able to run serious sessions when we decide. I believe I’m suited for this role as I’ve always aimed to make sure everyone feels comfortable in sessions and make the atmosphere as positive and upbeat as possible.

Now onto the serious stuff. I’d run regular weekly training sessions with the occasional collab with other societies, and I'd tweak up our current system by adding a short presentation of the topic and committee to make sure everyone is caught up before doing their individual country’s research. I’d also like to include more diverse (and niche) committees e.g. Historical Summits, EU bodies and of course our beloved Crisis. I’ll also come up with an “RoP crashcourse” handbook outlining MUN procedures for beginners, which’ll be available on our socials and group chats.

Vote for me for a bombastic UCLUNA MUN Director!
