UN Women Society: Events Manager

My name is Daria, and I am a second-year Human Sciences student. This year I had the opportunity to be the Events Officer of the first-ever committee of UN Women Society. Being part of the founding team has given me invaluable insights into how a society grows from an idea into a thriving community and into how thoughtful planning can turn a vision into a successful event.

As Event Officer, I have independently managed our first event and will continue to do the same for the ones ahead. I have worked closely with my committee to shape event ideas, build a coherent calendar, and develop engaging social media plans that will reach the people that share our mission.

If re-elected as Event Officer, I pledge to:

Maintain the same high standard of organisation, creativity and reliability at future events

Collaborate with my colleagues and society members to design events that reflect the wants of our community

Plan larger events and collaborations with other societies that fit with our mission and goals

I offer stability at a moment when consistent efforts, dedication, and long-term planning are essential for the success of the society. My attention to detail, strong communication skills and teamwork allow me to create events that feel welcoming, supportive, and safe for like‑minded people to express their opinions.

I would be honored to continue in this role for a full term, building structure, strengthening our impact in UCL, and helping the society grow into an empowering community.
