Founded in 2025, our society aims to raise awareness of the challenges faced by women and girls around the world while empowering students to become advocates for gender equality through education, discussion, volunteering, and action.
We believe that gender equality is a shared responsibility, which is why we are equally committed to engaging and educating men on recognising, challenging, and responding to sexism and gender-based discrimination. Through open dialogue, education, and collaboration, we aim to create a campus culture where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered to drive meaningful change.

What to expect from our society:
At UN Women UCL, we create opportunities for students to learn, connect, and make a meaningful impact both on campus and within the wider community.
Throughout the year, we host a range of engaging events, including “Women In” Guest Speakers & Panel Events, Campaigns & Advocacy, Fundraising & Volunteering, Career & Networking Events, Workshops & Skill Development, Collaborations, National and International conferences, and Socials.
We are passionate about turning awareness into action. Our society works alongside charities and community organisations through fundraising initiatives, volunteering opportunities, and collaborative projects that support women and vulnerable communities. Whether it's volunteering at local initiatives or organising charity campaigns, members have the opportunity to create tangible social impact.
Community is at the heart of everything we do. We organise regular socials, including our popular pub quizzes in collaboration with other UCL societies, giving members the chance to meet new like-minded people.
Beyond UCL, we encourage members to engage with the wider gender equality movement by attending conferences, talks, campaigns, and networking events across London.
