Triathlon Club: Treasurer

I’m Edouard, a final year economics student and I’m running for the position of treasurer in the Triathlon Club.

Having competed in cycling, running and triathlon races for years, I understand that this sport is tough and extremely rewarding at the same time; it is a constant mental battle. But more than that, it is a community. This society is about the people you suffer with, cycling in the cold at 7:00am and that’s why I’m committed to the club’s development and success!

But enough yapping and let’s get to the interesting bit.

What I would bring to the club:

⁃ Financial rigour: As an economics student, I’m comfortable with spreadsheets, budgeting and handling the “boring” aspect of accounting to ensure that the society runs smoothly.

⁃ Reliability: With 2 years of experience in academic research, I’m used to clear communication and sticking to strict deadlines, something essential when dealing with the Student Union.

⁃ Long time triathlon fan: With 8+ years of running + cycling experience and 2 years of triathlon competition, my passion for the sport goes beyond crunching numbers for the club!

How I would develop the club:

⁃ Sponsorship: I would actively seek sponsorship for the club to lower the cost of the tri-suit.

⁃ Club’s socials: I would allocate a part of the budget to organise regular socials for members to connect outside of sports.

⁃ Optimised Coaching: I would review our spending to ensure we can consistently afford high-quality coached swimming and running sessions.
