I’m running for Treasurer because I want to support the continued growth of UCL Tennis Society and ensure the club has the resources to keep delivering great opportunities for its members. Having been involved in the society as both Social Secretary and a BUCS team captain, I’ve seen first-hand what goes into running a club of this size and how important strong organisation behind the scenes is to its success.

Through these roles, I’ve experienced both the community and competitive sides of the society. This has given me a clear understanding of what members value (from strong team environments to well-run socials) and how important it is that the society’s finances are managed in a way that supports both.

As Treasurer, I’d aim to ensure the society’s funds are used effectively to enhance the overall member experience. That includes supporting extra training opportunities, social events that strengthen the club’s community, and charity events that allow the society to have a wider impact.

With the strong foundation the society already has, I’d also aim to ensure resources are used to create more opportunities for recreational players and the wider membership. Working closely with the rest of the committee, I’d help ensure UCL Tennis continues to grow while maintaining the inclusive and supportive culture that makes it such a great society to be part of.

I believe that I would be a good fit as treasurer because I have experience in managing accounts as head boy in my high school last year, where one of my roles was to plan and manage the finance of various internal and external events, including alumni dinners and school borough networking.

As someone who mostly grew up in London, and has been playing tennis for over 10 years, I have knowledge and relationships with organisations and people heavily involved in tennis around the city meaning I can find new opportunities and leverage partnerships to reduce costs and allow for a better societal experience.

I have been active at UCL tennis this year, helping out at RnD, competing for the LUSL team and being present at social events, which has allowed me to understand the needs of different members in the society; and as a treasurer I feel that I would be well equipped to help carry out the change and improvements people want to see next year.

As someone studying economics, I already have practice in recording and analysing financial statements, meaning I can ensure rigorous and transparent management of the tennis society account.

My main goals for next year would be to reduce larger operating costs, be that equipment or hiring out courts, and reallocating these funds into new and exciting socials for everyone in the society to benefit from.

I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute the growth of UCL tennis and would be grateful for your vote.

I’m standing for Treasurer because I really value being part of the Tennis Society and want to contribute in a way that keeps it running smoothly behind the scenes. The society offers so much — from social tennis to competitive matches and big events - so strong financial management is what makes all of that possible.

Treasurer might not be the most visible role, but it’s one of the most important. Careful budgeting, clear record-keeping, and forward planning are what allow us to stay organised, keep events affordable, and avoid unnecessary stress during the year. I’m organised, reliable, and comfortable working with spreadsheets and managing details. I’d make sure our finances are transparent, well-documented, and planned in advance so we can make confident decisions as a committee.

I’d also look for sensible ways to stretch our budget further — whether that’s through sponsorships, smarter planning, or making sure we’re getting good value from spending — so members feel their fees are being used effectively.

Overall, I’m standing because I care about the society and want to help it stay financially stable, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone.

I am very keen to be considered for the position of Treasurer for UCL Tennis Club.
As a competitive player and volunteer, I have a strong understanding of the club’s values and am passionate about making the sport more accessible to new players.
Through my previous experiences at my local club; initially as volunteer/ coaching assistant, then qualified coach and junior member council representative, I am familiar with some of the challenges and priorities associated with the day to day running of a busy club.
More recently I work as a lead coach at my new tennis club. I am accustomed to holding diverse responsibilities such as planning of training sessions, organising events and acting as a communication conduit between players and committee.
This has given me insight into how a treasurer can help oversee spending and  where it can most helpfully be used, in accordance with club priorities.
I am motivated to ensure the club remains financially organised and affordable for future students to enjoy. I am also keen to gain management and leadership experience on the committee, whilst providing a meaningful contribution to the society.
